May 29, 2003 · This wasn't intended to be an argument. You started this thread by asking for the most accurate .22-250 loads people have obtained. You went on to state that you use expensive brass, go through extensive prep, and use all sorts of competition parts and components. With all this you obtain 0.3+ MOA 5-shot groups at 100 yards.

Using the smaller .22-.250 with 68 and 75 grain bullets I use H4350 at 36 and 35 grains and this approaches the 105 gr. .243 loads at moderate ranges with up to 11 grains less powder. The 75 grain Hornady Amax makes the .22-.250 into some sort of "mini magnum" with relatively small loads of H4350 at 36 or so grains with velocities over 3200 fps.Jan 31, 2018 · The blitzing little .22-250 is what you'd call a 'purpose-built' varminting cartridge. This American-made, double-base spherical powder is a slower derivative of A-2230. It is a great powder for cartridges from the .17 Remington Fireball to the .22-250 Remington. Accurate 2460 shot 20- and 25-grain bullets a good 250 fps faster than other powders loaded in the .17 Fireball, and with great accuracy.

If you have a 12 twist, I recommend the 53 VMAX. It has a better bc than any of the 55's. With RL-17, my rifle is shooting the 53 VMAX in the .3's @ 3900+ from a 12 twist, 26" barrel. In all 3 the hands down best powder (for accuracy) with 52-53 gr bullets was H-380. My last was a Rem 700 VSF. With 38.4 grs of H-380 Rem 9 1/2M and a Hornady case at .020 off lands my accuracy was .35 MOA. Great load. Start at about 34gr's and work up watching for pressure signs. My gun came alive at 36gr and held the quiet barrel node to 36.3gr. For a 9 twist longer reaching 22-250 I don't think you can beat a 12 VLP DBM for $809, also gunbroker. 10 lbs. These are very accurate rifles and I've yet to decide between the two.
